As a proud native of Sumter County, I began my educational journey at Bushnell Elementary School, South Sumter Middle School, and South Sumter High School. During my time at South Sumter High, I was actively involved in athletics and dreamed of one day returning to my alma mater as a teacher and coach. Although my path initially led me elsewhere, that dream never faded.
I began my professional career at the Sumter County Clerk’s Office, where I worked for 15 years while earning my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. However, driven by the belief that education has the power to positively transform lives, I made the life-changing decision to obtain my teaching certification.
I began teaching 8th Grade English Language Arts at South Sumter Middle School in 2017. After three years, I transitioned to South Sumter High School, where I taught 9th Grade English, AP Seminar, and AP Lang. During that time, I also coached girls' sports and pursued my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. Upon completion, I was honored to serve as their assistant principal for 2 years.
My journey in education has been guided by a deep commitment to empowering students both inside and outside the classroom, supporting educators, and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment. I firmly believe that education is the key to unlocking each student’s potential. In my role as an Assistant Principal Intern at Webster Elementary School, I remain dedicated to advancing student achievement, cultivating a strong school culture, and working collaboratively with staff and families. It is my mission to help ensure that Webster Elementary School continues to be a place where every student is educated, supported, and inspired to reach their academic, personal, and career goals.
