We are sharing important information regarding the Family Empowerment Scholarship-Educational Options (FES EO) Program available to Florida families.
The FES EO program provides an eligible student with a scholarship to attend a private school selected by the parent.
Eligibility and Priority
A student is eligible for FES EO if they are a resident of Florida and eligible to enroll in kindergarten through grade 12 in a Florida public school.
Priority for participation is set as follows:
-
First Priority: A student whose household income level does not exceed 185 percent of the federal poverty level, or who is in foster or out-of-home care.
-
Second Priority: A student whose household income level exceeds 185 percent but does not exceed 400 percent of the federal poverty level.
How to Apply
Parents interested in applying for the FES EO scholarship should take the following steps:
Contact a Scholarship Funding Organization (SFO): You must first contact one of Florida's two approved SFOs to complete the income verification process.
Enroll in a Private School: Prior to scholarship funds being awarded, the student must be accepted and enrolled in a participating private school.
School Participation
While a private school that is currently eligible for any scholarship program is eligible to participate in FES EO, parents should contact the private school directly to inquire if the school will participate in the program and accept the scholarship.
