This week, Sumter County proudly took the national stage at the ECTAC Exceeding Expectations Conference, and what a moment it was!

A passionate team from South Sumter Middle School and the dedicated Principal of Wildwood Elementary, Mrs. Brittany Brown, presented their powerful stories of growth and achievement on the national stage. Their presentations reflected the heart, hard work, and innovation happening every day in our schools.

We were also honored to have Mrs. Nicole Goble, Director of Elementary Education, facilitate a meaningful panel discussion featuring Mrs. Brown—highlighting the strength of leadership and collaboration in our district. Even more exciting, South Sumter Middle School and Wildwood Elementary School were both recognized for their remarkable school grade increases and academic excellence during the 2023–2024 school year.

These outstanding administrators and teacher leaders are not only transforming lives in Sumter—they’re sharing their success and strategies with educators from across the state and nation. Their voices are making a difference far beyond our community.

We are incredibly proud of their dedication, leadership, and the example they set for what it means to truly exceed expectations.
